Jerry Alan Johnson Ph.D., D.T.C.M., D.M.Q. (China) is an internationally recognized non-Chinese Grand Master, practicing TCM doctor, and Professor of Medical Qigong Therapy. Johnson is the founder and executive director of the International Institute of Medical Qigong, in Pacific Grove, California. Johnson's martial art specialities are Baguazhang,Taijiquan, and Qigong. He was elected to the International Baguazhang Research and Teachers Exchange Council and participated on the Board of Advisors for the United States of America Wushu-Kung Fu Federation. Johnson is currently semi-retired and teaches medical Qigong and lectures throughout the world.
Professor Johnson received his Masters Degree in Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy from the Hai Dian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China. He is licensed as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (D.T.C.M.) specializing in Oncology, and is a Professor of Medical Qigong Science and Philosophy at the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Professor Johnson is Dean of Medical Qigong Science and Director of the Medical Qigong Clinics at the Five Branches Institute, College and Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Santa Cruz, California, and has currently been appointed by the Chinese government (PRC's Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education) as the Overseas Director of Medical Qigong Therapy for the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Professor Johnson is the Vice-President (U.S.A.) of the World Academic Society of Medical Qigong in Beijing, China, and was appointed as Ambassador of Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy to North America - Commissioned by the World Health Organization Collaborating Center for Traditional Chinese Medicine, in Beijing, China (sponsored by the United Nations).
Professor Johnson is on the External Advisory Committee in Traditional Chinese Medicine for Cancer Treatment at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, and is the author of the current textbooks entitled, "An Energetic Approach to Oncology," and, "Chinese Medical Qigong Therapy: A Comprehensive Clinical Text," which are currently being utilized as required study texts in several Acupuncture colleges and Medical Qigong Institutes throughout the world. Tournament career

Jerry Alan Johnson was: 1980 Southbay National Champion, 1982 Tournament of Fighters Kung Fu Champion, 1982 Universal T.K.D./T.S.D. Invitational Grand Champion, 1983 Colorado National Kung Fu Champion, 1983 Tournament of Fighters Grand Champion, 1984 Colorado National Kung Fu Champion, and retired from open fighting after becoming Tournament of Fighters Kung Fu Champion in 1984.[11]
